After spending 34 years in the nursing profession, I’m now a full-time professional writer and photographer based in San Diego, California.

I hold memberships with the International Travel Writers and Photographers Association, International Food, Wine, and Travel Writers Association, and the prestigious San Diego Press Club.

The travel bug bit me as a child and so the transition to the world of freelance travel writing just seems natural.

Four years ago, I began this fascinating journey, and today I’m thrilled to say I have 350 published articles in 32 digital and print publications.

I am a regular contributor to several magazines, my stories covering the gamut of travel and culture, luxury vacation rentals, food, wine and other libations, history, military, and inspirational writing.

Married to a retired naval officer, I had the privilege of living in Italy and traveling to 21 European countries. These days, I traverse the globe and write about exciting destinations like Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean, the Hawaiian Islands, and other U.S. locations.

In 2016, I pioneered the Travel Writer’s Café, an exclusive forum designed for travel writers in collaboration with Great Escape Publishing.
Since launching my travel writing career in 2014,

I’ve been a panelist and instructor for Great Escape Publishing’s Ultimate Travel Writers Workshop where I specialize in topics such as Marketing for Travel Writers and Landing Top Press Trips and Travel Perks.

What’s next?

I’m working on a collaborative project with two other industry professional colleagues to launch a program for regional travel writer Mastermind Retreats.

Thanks for visiting my website. I’d appreciate any comments on my published articles or questions about my journey to becoming a successful travel writer.
